Most doctors shrug their shoulders and accept the inevitable when treating patients with arthritis, prescribing nothing more than pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs.

Medical textbooks say there is no cure for most forms of arthritis. Medical treatment focuses on easing the symptoms, not on curing the affliction. The problem doctors face in treating arthritis is that, although there are many theories, they really don't know what causes it.
